ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
An increase in the world population has put a greater demand on the earth's natural resources. Environmental sustainability is a key concept being introduced throughout the world. It is a thrilling idea with vastly positive outcomes possible to create a more environmentally friendly world. The sustainability concept has been largely a philosophical concept, but is becoming increasingly conventional and a very important issue to address today.
AIESEC UQ is committed to raising awareness on such issues and has demonstrated this through organising the Water Solutions Forum, held on 7th of March 2009 at the University of Queensland. Experts from various companies were invited to discuss the issue of water sustainability as well as potential solutions with university students and concerned members of the Brisbane community.
On the 28th of October 2009, AIESEC UQ held, 'Ignorance 2 Impact: Creating Sustainable Futures'. The event featured speakers from various industries discussing environmental and social sustainability.
